Wool Judging

Learning experiences focus on:

Fiber analysis of wool based on fineness, length, strength & soundness
Estimating clean yield (percentage of useable wool after washing)
Evaluating classes of fleeces by quality
Gaining understanding of sheep industry standards and textile industry raw material needs
Learning about the livestock industry, from shearing to processing wool
Professional skills through communication, public speaking & team collaboration
