Livestock Judging

Learning experiences focus on:

Learning to evaluate cattle, sheep, goats, and swine based on industry standards
Understanding animal structure, muscling, balance, and quality
Developing knowledge of production traits like growth, efficiency, and carcass merit
Practicing note-taking and comparison skills during evaluation
Building confidence through oral reasons—explaining and defending decisions
Strengthening critical thinking and decision-making under time limits
Gaining insight into current livestock industry practices and trends
