We are excited about your interest in the Family & Community Health Quiz Bowl competition. We are forming teams now. Junior/Intermediate teams will need 3-4 members to compete, and senior teams will need to have 4 members on their team. Amy Heimann will serve as the coach for the intermediate and senior teams. We are currently looking for a junior coach. Each practice will be for 1 hour

-Exhibitors can enter ONE item per class.
-Entries must be prepared by the exhibitor, must not require refrigeration, and need to be displayed in disposable containers.

Food Challenge
Team of 3-4 youth receive ingredients and 40 minutes to prepare a dish. Teams present their dish to the judges and scored on preparation, serving size, food safety concerns and nutritional value. Very similar to the popular Food Network Show - Chopped!
Family & Community Healthy (FCH) Quiz Bowl
A "quiz bowl" is a quiz game that tests the knowledge of our 4-H members. Teams of 4 are tested on their knowledge of nutrition, consumer information, food and kitchen safety, food preparation, and health. 4-Hers buzz in to answer questions and earn points for correct answers. Teams participant in a tournament bracket to win the "Quiz Bowl"
Food Show (Clover Kid Opportunity)
4-H members choose a recipe that represents one of the following categories: Appetizer, Main Dish, Side Dish or Healthy Dessert. They learn to prepare their dish and present information to the judges about their choice. During the interview with the judges, participants share preparation steps, the nutrients and ingredients, personal dietary needs, and healthy substitutions.
