Fall Sewing Camp
Dates: October 12th & 13th
Open for: 3rd - 12th Grade
Must have attended the summer sewing camp or be approved. Must bring sewing machine.

Monday, October 12th | 9 AM - 3 PM
Tuesday, October 13th | 9 AM - 1 PM
$45* - includes lunch (Limited to 12 youth)

Holiday Project Sewing Camp
Dates: November 21st, 23rd & 24th
Open for: 3rd - 12th Grade

Spring Sewing Project Meetings
Dates: Every Tuesday - January 5th - March 9th
Open for: Gillespie 4-H members 3rd - 12th Grade - Must bring sewing machine.

Goal is to prepare teams for Duds to Dazzle contest!

We are excited about your interest in the Family & Community Health Quiz Bowl competition. We are forming teams now. Junior/Intermediate teams will need 3-4 members to compete, and senior teams will need to have 4 members on their team. Amy Heimann will serve as the coach for the intermediate and senior teams. We are currently looking for a junior coach. Each practice will be for 1 hour

Clothing and Textiles Contests:

Duds to Dazzle
Teams of 3–5 youth receive a bag of donated clothing and a scenario, then have a limited amount of time to create a new wearable garment or accessory. Teams work together to plan, design, and construct their creation using the available materials. They present their finished design to judges and explain their creative process, techniques, and how they transformed “duds” into something “dazzling!”

Fashion Show
4-H members showcase their sewing and fashion skills by modeling garments they have created or purchased. Participants are judged on their knowledge of clothing selection, construction, fit, fashion, and presentation. Youth prepare for an interview with judges where they discuss their garment, design choices, construction techniques, and how the outfit reflects their personal style.

Fashion Storyboard
4-H members create a storyboard that tells the story behind a fashion or clothing-related topic. Youth research their chosen subject and use photos, graphics, text, and design elements to communicate information in a creative and visually appealing way. Participants develop skills in research, fashion knowledge, communication, and visual design while preparing their storyboard for judging.
